These 4 Adults-Only Halloween Cocktails are Sure to Be a Hit!

Halloween is as popular among adults as it is with kids. That’s probably because Halloween is one of the few times of the year when adults can be whimsical, have fun, and (in some cases) let their freak flags fly! If you are throwing an adult Halloween Bash, go beyond serving up spiked punch (no) and pumpkin beer (yuck). Here are 4 devilishly fun cocktails that will help you get your Halloween on with verve and style.

Mr. Hyde:

This drink relies on vodka and berries to pack a pleasingly purple punch!

8 ounces vodka
4 ounces parfait amour liqueur
1 ounce blackberry liqueur
2 ounces tarragon simple syrup
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 ounce lavender syrup
4 lavender sprigs
8 blackberries
dry ice (optional)

Yield: 4 cocktails

Place 2 blackberries on each lavender sprig and set aside. It’s easiest to insert a toothpick through blackberry first in order to create small hole for the lavender stem. Juice your lemon and strain to remove pulp. Add spirits, syrups and juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until cold. Usually this takes about 15-20 seconds. Serve in beakers with a lavender-berry skewer. Add a cube of dry ice.

1 ounce bourbon
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/4 ounce grenadine
splash of Mountain Dew
dry ice chips
Note: Do not touch dry ice with skin or swallow. Always wait until ice has melted to consume.

Pour bourbon, lime juice and grenadine into a shaker over ice. Shake and strain into a shot glass. Drop in a dry ice chip and top with Mountain Dew. Remind your guests not to consume the dry ice chips, just wait until they melt.

Black Widow Halloween Shot Recipe

red sugar crystals, for rim

Fill a small cocktail glass with ice. For fun buy a Halloween-themed glass with a spider graphic. Rim the glass with the red sugar crystals. Pour cranberry juice over ice, then gently layer the black vodka over the ice. Garnish with a black cherry.

Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Milkshake Recipe

Pumpkin pie milkshake with a bourbon pick-me-up? Where do I sign up?!

2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup cream or half-and-half
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup pureed pumpkin
1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1/3 cup graham-cracker crumbs
2-3 ounces bourbon
pinch of cinnamon
frosting and sprinkles, for rim
whipped cream (optional)

Blend all ingredients in blender and mix until combined. Rim your glasses with a light coating of frosting, then dip the glass in sprinkles. Pour your milkshake in the glass, lightly sprinkling cinnamon on top. Add whipped cream and serve. This makes two shakes. This favor can be made without alcohol for those who abstain from drinking or even for the children.
